It’s mid-September already and this is a slightly delayed post. We had originally wanted to do it earlier at the beginning of the month but got pushed back somehow. And yeah, we already missed Boomarang’s opening act for the KORN concert. Here’s a clip from the great gig…
Anyway, moving on, September still has a lot of interesting events lined up in the North East from music festivals to cycling events. Here are the 5 events to watch out for this month.
1. Youth Expressions – Photography Exhibition at St. Anthony’s College, Shillong
The Department of Mass Media, St. Anthony’s College celebrates its seventeenth anniversary, on 14th September 2012. As a part of the anniversary celebration, the third year Mass Media students are organising a Photo Exhibition cum sale and Art Installation on 13th, 14th and 15th of September 2012 at the College Conference Hall. This exhibition is a part of third year photo project and the theme for the photo exhibition and art installation is “Youth Expressions”.
2. Ziro Music Festival – 3day long music fest at Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh
The Ziro Music Festival is a 3day long music festival held at the picturesque backdrop of the beautiful plateau and headquarter of Lower Subansiri District, Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh. The Ziro Music Festival starts on 14th September through 16th September. It is supposed to be one of North East India’s most vibrant music and arts festival.
3. Anthurium Festival – 3day tourism festival at Reiek Tourist Resort, Mizoram
Anthurium Festival is one of the major festivals of Mizoram and is celebrated every year during the month of September. It is a festival to promote tourism and the plantation of anthurium in Mizoram. The Anthurium Festival is held at the Reiek Tourist Resort.
4. Heikru Hidongba – a boat race festival at Bijoy Govinda Thangapat, Imphal, Manipur
Heikru Hidongba is the traditional boat race festival celebrated in Manipur. The festival has a great heritage and celebrated with a ritualistic approach.
5. Ride to Recharge 2012 – a cycling event in Perima, Nagaland
Ride to Recharge 2012 is a 40 km Route biking event organized by Alaphra Tourism and endorsed by Dept. Of Tourism, Nagaland. The 40 km route will cover some of the interesting mountain trails, valleys, rivers, forests, and fields in an amazing adventure trip from Midway Resort, Perima to the CityTower, Dimapur.
