Award for Khasi Film Ri – Homeland of Uncertainty

Ri – Homeland of Uncertainty (2013), was adjudged as the best Khasi film in the 61st National Film Awards. The 110-minute film directed by Pradip Kurbah and co-produced by Kurbah with Ribiang Tlang, Heithmu Phawa and Sajeki Passah is a gripping account of militancy/ insurgency and its variegated perspectives and also the diminishing returns of militancy. Filmed partly in Bangladesh where all the arms deals happen, Ri is a true to life account of militancy in the Khasi-Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya. Genesis Of Pink, Sikkim’s first all girls band will be featured on national television, CNN IBN on 8th March, 2014 on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Go girls!!!! Genesis Of Pink ( G.o.P) is a four member all girls band from Sikkim that was formed on April 2013.The band also has a supporting dance crew. Shillong to Host Indian Panorama Film Festival

Shillong will be treated to the best of recent Indian cinema at the Indian Panorama Film Festival which will be held in the city from March 3 – 6. The Indian Panorama Film Festival is organized in  collaboration with the Meghalaya Department of Information and Public Relations, the Government of India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, International Film Festival India, and the Directorate of Film Festivals.
