Mary Kom, born Mangte Chungneijang Merykom, is a boxer and mother of two from Churchandpur, Manipur. Mary Kom, also known as the Magnificent Mary, is perhaps the finest, and most successful woman boxer in India. Hailing from a remote village in a remote town from a remote part of India, she has been bringing laurels from the boxing community all over the world and has been proving critics wrong time and again with her amazing boxing feats since the year 2000. Mary Kom is the ‘only boxer in world to have won a medal in each one of the six World Championships.
Chekrovolu Swuro is an archer from Dzulha village of Phek district in Nagaland, India. She was the member of silver medal winning team in Archery world cup 2011 held at Turin, Italy. By winning silver medal in the team event at Turin Archery world cup 2011 she qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in both women’s individual and team Archery.
Ng Soniya Chanu
Ngangbam Soniya Chanu (born 15 February 1980) is a weightlifter. She won the silver medal in the Women’s 48 kg category at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She is from Imphal West district of Manipur, India.
Laishram Bombayla Devi (born 22 February 1985) is an archer from Manipur, India. Bombayla is representing India for the second time in the Olympics at the London Olympics 2012.

Somdev Devvarman (born in 13 February 1985) is a tennis player from Tripura, India. Three of Devvarman’s college conquests, John Isner, Kevin Anderson, and Jesse Levine have successful pro careers. He hit the headlines for being the only collegiate player to have made three consecutive finals at the NCAA, winning back-to-back finals in his junior and senior years. Only three other players have matched that record since 1950. His 44–1 win-loss record in 2008 at NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship is unprecedented.
Tarundeep Rai (born 22 February 1984) is an archer from Namchi, Sikkim, India. He is one of the Indian sportsperson supported by Olympic Gold Quest.
Shiva Thapa (born 8 December 1993) is a boxer from Guwahati, Assam, India. He trains at Pune-based Army Sports Institute and is supported by Olympic Gold Quest, a not-for-profit foundation to identify and support Indian athletes. Shiva Thapa is the youngest Indian boxer to qualify for the Olympics.
Jayanta Talukdar (born 2 March 1986) is an archer from Guwahati, Assam, India. Jayanta Talukdar was part of the Indian team that won the silver medal at the 2004 Junior World Championships.
Kothajit Singh (born 17 August 1992) is a hockey player from Manipur, India. Kothajit plays the centre-half position and is an amazing hockey player.
