The serene and beautiful Reiek Village, Mamit district, Mizoram played host to the Anthurium Festival again this year.Organised over a period of three (3) days from 20th to 22nd September 2012, Anthurium Festival is the largest State-sponsored secular festival in Mizoram.
The three day festival was inaugurated by Pu Vakkam B Purushothoman, H.E. the Governor of Mizoram, the second day festivities was graced by Pu Lalrinliana, Hon’ble Health Minister, and the concluding day was presided over by Pu Lal Thanhawla, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram. The main objective of the Anthurium Festival is promoting the Anthurium flower and attracting tourists to this land locked state. The festival successfully attracted quite a large number of domestic as well as foreign tourists taking part in the festivities and having a good time.
